  1. Ciara, great job on round two, you have succeeded in capturing both high key and low key images. You have in these images shown and understanding of both lighting concepts.
However, your high key image is a little over exposed, which is an easy way to make a high key image but loose detail information. If both boots were in the direct sun with a 1/3 of a stop less exposure you would still have a high key image.
Choosing to shoot at night for your low key image is also an easy way to achieve low key and I would like to see more going on in the image. Might be a close up of a few words in lights or a car going by in the foreground... think about mood, texture, shadow in stead of night. this is the type of assignment that you can think about when making any photo... what kind of mood are you looking for.

  2. This comment is for Jonathan, was unable to post right under your image for some reason so...

Well done Jonathan! how easy do you make it look to shoot high and low key images, just changing the background worked very well.
But I think you can take it further. Looks like you used the same main light on the flowers in both shots. With the low key image I think if you moved the light or the flowers so that they were side lit or back lit we could see more texture and so add more drama to the dark nature of a low key image. keep discovering.

Great approach to use the same subject for both pictures!
in the future this I think will be a requirement for this assignment.
